title="i-Evo Ltd" href="http://www.lumidigm.com/ievo-ltd/">i-Evo on January 17, 2012

The new smaller i-Evo Micro™ boasts many original i-Evo Ultimate™ reader features including multispectral imaging from Lumidigm, seamless integration and an 8,000 unique fingerprint capacity. Having successfully launched the original i-Evo Ultimate reader just two years ago, i-Evo has now successfully implemented the Lumidigm Mercury™ product to produce a lower cost biometric solution, based on responses from installers of the original reader. From this feedback, the idea of an indoors-only fingerprint reader was created which provides another choice for installers pursuing projects requiring a cost-effective, yet reliable and practical, security solution similar to the Ultimate product.

Micro also retains functionality with creams and powders on the skin as well as with the user wearing some types of latex gloves. Multiple mounting options provide the customer with choices on how to display their security system. Seamless integration into existing card, fob and proximity systems results in minimal disruption during the installation process.

Managing Director of i-Evo Shaun Oakes comments that, “Our new fingerprint reader for indoor environments maintains quality and reliability that many access control products lack. Having provisionally launched Micro to our existing customers, we received quotes for projects including cash offices, server rooms, office blocks and even people’s homes. This shows that, even though Micro is half the size, it is still as feature rich as the Ultimate reader and clearly has a market of its own.”

Simon Farmer from ACC Security Solutions has had a demonstration of the Micro reader and stated that, “It’s small, light and attractive, yet has many of the same features as the Ultimate. I will be recommending Micro to my clients as a dependable and reliable security solution.”

i-Evo Micro is now available to quote for projects. For pricing and technical information, contact the i-Evo sales and technical team at +44 (0)845 643 6632.

About i-Evo™

Leveraging over a decade of biometric experience, i-Evo develops biometric solutions for the access control market. Their background has driven them to consider all aspects of biometric installation in the design of their products, from the specification process and installation all the way through to the end user experience. Both products, Ultimate and Micro, deliver a minimalist, reliable and fit-for-purpose solution that allows seamless integration and works alongside currently installed systems using card/fob/PINs, as opposed to looking to replace whole systems. i-Evo ensures that the best sensor is used and all other components are of the highest quality possible, including a world leading algorithm. Coupled with its low cost, the i-Evo solutions take biometrics into new markets that have previously withdrawn or have not been suitable due to the low quality of traditional products. Located in the United Kingdom, both readers are currently available direct to trade customers in the UK and globally.

Tiger IT Leverages Lumidigm Advantage to Create AFIS/Iris Matching System for Bangladesh’s RAB

Press Releases

Tiger IT

OSRAM / Lumidigm

Lumidigm has selected the Pointled from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors as the illumination source in the company’s Mercury and Mariner Fingerprint Sensors (Lumidigm M-Series). Lumidigm has long been at the forefront of the fingerprint sensor market with its proprietary multispectral imaging technology. The recent adoption of the compact, bright and efficient OSRAM Pointled has enabled Lumidigm to reduce the size and cost of its sensors and expand the reach of fingerprint authentication into new applications.

Lumidigm is an innovator in fingerprint biometrics, providing state-of-the-art fingerprint scanning with special emphasis on high performance in real world conditions. Lumidigm’s patented multispectral fingerprint technology closes a 20% performance gap often seen with conventional technologies because it illuminates both surface and subsurface fingerprint features, ultimately collecting more biometric information from the finger than conventional sensors can.

“We chose the Pointled product from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors for our Mercury and Mariner product lines because of the unique combination of small package size, symmetric radiation pattern, long lifetime and the ability to operate in high ambient temperatures,” said Steve Corcoran, Lumidigm’s Chief Engineer. “These attributes made it possible for us to design a compact illumination system that produces a highly uniform and efficient lighting profile at the fingerprint reader platen. Thanks to the excellent output of the OSRAM Pointled, Lumidigm is able to leverage our multispectral technology in a compact fingerprint sensor series.”

The OSRAM Pointled is a perfect combination of advanced package and chip technologies. It is the smallest LED with an integrated reflector and is suitable for both surface mount technology (SMT) and zero-height mounting. Its compact dimensions – 2 mm diameter x 0.775 mm high – allow this mini light source to be sunk completely in the printed circuit board, making it ideal for applications such as the Lumidigm M-Series fingerprint sensors where space is at a premium. The typical brightness of the white mini LED is currently 800 mcd at a beam angle of 120°, perfectly suitable for this unique imaging application.

All Lumidigm fingerprint scanners are available worldwide. title="Innometriks Inc." href="http://www.lumidigm.com/innometriks/">Innometriks has added Lumidigm’s Mercury multispectral biometric sensor to the Innometriks Cheetah card reader, which meets or exceeds credential authentication requirements as set forth by U.S. Government identity programs including FIPS201/PIV, SP800-116 and the Transportation Worker’s Identity Credential (TWIC). Mercury biometric sensors feature multispectral fingerprint imaging, a sophisticated technology developed to overcome the capture problems conventional imaging systems have in less-than-ideal conditions.

“Multispectral imaging from Lumidigm lets our Cheetah reader capture superior fingerprint images quickly on all people in all environmental conditions,” emphasizes John Cassise, Innometriks CEO. “The Mercury sensors incorporate this field-proven technology into a reliable platform that allows for a smaller form factor and a lower cost.”

“Our Mercury multispectral sensors coupled with the Cheetah’s strong credential authentication provide a truly cost-effective reader for those who are serious about the entire security process,” adds Bill Spence, Lumidigm vice president, transaction services. “Security professionals now have a reader that seamlessly connects the next generation of credentials with the next generation of reliable fingerprint technology.”

Lumidigm Mercury multispectral fingerprint sensors capture fingerprint data beneath the surface of the skin so that dryness or even damaged or worn fingers create no problems for reliable reads. title="i-Evo Ltd" href="http://www.lumidigm.com/ievo-ltd/">iEvo on August 22, 2011

Leading supplier of biometrically-enabled applications, Argus Global, has partnered with ievo™ to enable more secure, efficient use of fingerprint technology with its applications.

With the help of Lumidigm’s multispectral imaging sensor ievo™ has already been integrated with Argus’ CornerSafe module, for secure keysafe management, with many new projects underway.

Argus has chosen to partner with ievo™ due to the unsurpassed capabilities of ievo™ fingerprint readers. Unlike standard fingerprint readers, ievo™ employs Lumidigm multispectral readers which are unaffected by variations in fingerprint quality due to dirt or grease; and they work in even the harshest conditions, for example in freezing temperatures, rain and direct sunlight. The robust, IP65 rated readers are ideal for environments like construction sites and are set to be used in a multi-million pound project to secure the Scottish National Arena at the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

Commenting on the partnership, Ken Farrow, Director of Argus Global Australia, says: “At Argus we only partner with biometric suppliers with proven, robust technologies that we know will meet our clients’ security requirements. Many of our customers operate in high risk environments where both low FAR and fast processing are critical to a successful implementation. Unfortunately many of the standard fingerprint technologies simply don’t fulfil client requirements, ievo™ does. I’m looking forward to many future installations with ievo™, across the globe.”

Stuart Ging, Director for ievo™ comments, “The ievo™ fingerprint reader has been designed from the outset to easily integrate into established and market leading systems such as Argus Global’s CornerSafe module. Our ievo™ reader has an IP rating of 65, therefore providing our customers with a trustworthy biometric that is fully functional amidst harsh environments. This is imperative to our business ethos and something we clearly share with Argus Global. We look forward to ievo™ being represented in Argus Global’s vast portfolio of high profile customers, and generating new business for both companies.”
