He supplies audiences worldwide with expert information on how to develop biometric applications for successful “real world” deployment.</p><p>Mr. Miller has focused his professional career on understanding and implementing all aspects of technology commercialization. Prior to joining Lumidigm, Mr. Miller was a Principle and Senior Manager with EJB World Trade, an international business development firm providing executive oversight to a diverse portfolio of closely-held businesses. He participated in all aspects of the formation and operational development of start-up and emerging technology companies in addition to directing turnaround and exit strategies for struggling businesses.</p><p>Mr. Miller spent his early career with Xerox Corporation in various sales and sales management roles. Scarfo is currently the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing at Lumidigm. He has more than 20 years of executive-level experience in the biometrics and personal identification industry.</p><p>Prior to joining Lumidigm, Mr. Scarfo held a number of senior executive positions in both start-up and Fortune 500 companies, including NEC, HID Global, and Polaroid ID (now L-1). He was CEO and co-founder of Imprivata, a successful identity management software company that employs a wide range of identity and access technologies. Among these are biometrics and other strong authentication technologies, including smart cards, secure tokens, data encryption, OTPs and enterprise-wide identity management software.</p><p>As SVP of NEC’s solutions business, Mr. Scarfo was responsible for NEC’s AFIS and Public Safety solutions business in the US, including many of the largest AFIS deployments in service today. At HID Global, he directed the company’s integrated identity and logical access business. These solutions offered biometrics and integrated contact and contactless smart card solutions for both physical and logical access control.</p><p>As VP of Polaroid’s worldwide identification business, Mr. Scarfo was responsible for a wide range of identity documents worldwide (US driver’s licenses, passports, national and voter ID card programs). His team was the first to deploy many finger and facial biometrics technologies in large-scale identification programs.</p><p>Mr. Scarfo has both an undergraduate (BA Math) and graduate degree (MBA) from Northeastern University in Boston. Parthasaradhi is the Director of Biometric Applications at Lumidigm where he is responsible for forming strategic alliances for fingerprint biometrics in India and in its neighboring countries. In this capacity, he meets with decision makers in the government and private sectors to familiarize them with the critical aspects of fingerprint biometric deployments. Mr. Parthasaradhi also supports partners in India as they design solutions to meet customer and user requirements.</p><p>Previously, Mr. Parthasaradhi held the position of Staff Scientist at Lumidigm and specialized in the design of real world evaluation studies for fingerprint sensors. He was responsible for implementing large fingerprint studies, evaluating sensors and algorithms for biometric and spoof performance, and researching and testing spoofing techniques for different fingerprint sensor technologies. Thus, Mr. Parthasaradhi holds a strong understanding of both the technical and business aspects of fingerprint recognition technologies.</p><p>Prior to joining Lumidigm, Mr. Parthasaradhi was an Algorithm Developer at Bioscrypt, Inc. where he tested and evaluated pattern-based fingerprint algorithms against the images acquired from different sensors. He holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, with a thesis in fingerprint technology, from West Virginia University. A pioneer in the commercialization of biometrics, Mr. Spence has been at the forefront of biometric technology and its application since 1991. Today, he leads the Lumidigm business unit that applies patented multispectral fingerprint technology to transactional systems in markets such as physical access control and time &amp; attendance.</p><p>Mr. Spence first became involved with biometrics at Recognition Systems (now Ingersoll Rand), the world’s largest manufacturer of hand geometry biometric products. His experience also includes the development of fingerprint markets while at Identix (now L-1 Identity Solutions). In roles such as VP of Business Development, VP of Marketing, and General Manager, Mr. Spence has driven the expansion of the commercial markets for biometric products while maintaining a focused business discipline, resulting in some of the industry’s most profitable biometric products and companies. Mr. Spence is a widely published author of articles describing the use of biometrics in access control and time &amp; attendance applications. Publications include articles in Security Technology and Design, PAYTECH Magazine, Security Distribution and Marketing, Security Products, Business Solutions, and several international journals.</p><p>In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of the International Biometric Industry Association (IBIA), Mr. Spence is the Vice Chairman of the Security Industry Association’s Biometric Subcommittee.
